Dawn Chorus Cheque Presentation and Speech - Dr Tim Blackburn.

This event, held at the head office of investment banker Campbell MacPherson and support Waitiri Creek provided n opportunity for supporters and fund recipients to learn about the reputation New Zealand has abroad as the 'extinction capital of the world'. Dr Blackburn frequents New Zealand to study our extinction process as well as looking at how effective our attempts to reverse this trend has been. His speech was thought provoking and reminded everyone about the delicate balance that exists within our ecosystems and how easily this has been overcome and overwhelmed by highly skilled, introduced mammalian predators.

The high point fo the evening however was the cheque presentation to Richard Jakob-Hoff, senior veterinarian at the Wildlife Health and Research Centre, Auckland Zoo.

Foundation Deputy chairman Dick Hubbard presented the Dawn Chorus cheque of $8,000 to Richard.
